Premium Comedy, previously operated as Nubreed Comedy, was founded in 2002 and registered in 2005 by the company’s visionary Kedibone Mulaudzi. Our vision is to grow the comedy industry in South Africa by creating various platforms through comedy for both young and established comedians to grow their talent. We believe to have over the years been very instrumental in instigating a way in and unearthing fresh young comics to grow the comedy industry along with us. In 2005 we launched Jo’burg City’s first ever weekly comedy nights at what was known as Horror Café, and the event continued to have a successful run for about 3 years till 2007. Through the successes of The Horror Café Comedy Nights, Premium Comedy had helped launch for some of today’s comedy greats a space to nurture and grow their talent, a few of those comics include Eugene Khoza, Trevor Noah, Kedibone Mulaudzi, Judy Jake, Thomas Gumede, Chris Mapane, Tumi Morake, Tall Ass Mo, Nina Hastie, Trevor Gumbi and Jay Boogie just to note a few.
Today Premium Comedy’s core businesses include hosting and managing weekly, monthly and annual comedy events through out the year; supplying comedians for entertainment at corporate and government events; unearthing and grooming young comics through our comedy academy program; and the use of industrial theatre to create learning and change in the business environment.
